Damires Hills @ Their 4th Anniversary

Gaah.. It’s really nice to see this resort improve as we visit! 🙂
Last time, while I was fixing photos and Ron was doing his layers for the resort’s 4th anniversary poster we saw old photos of the resort and may I say that the place has really improved! From just the cottages to 2 big pools to (Kiddie&Adult) ziplines and trampolines! And this year.. they had just finished their ATV route!

This was supposed to be posted last year but due to some “weird events” this IS a super late upload. 🙂
The last food that we tried last year was their Calamares and Lawas.
The Calamares was good but the LAWAS was the best! At first I didn’t know what it was because in our dialect LAWAS means BODY and I for one wasn’t comfortable eating a BODY (Hahaha) but joking aside… This was beyond my expectations!
This tasted like nilaga or bulalo but wasn’t nilaga or bulalo! (I have no idea how to explain it) When you go to Damires please do try this…

Since we were so full we decided to take a walk and see the view in one of the open cottages …

While we waited for all the Damires peeps to prepare for their get-together party we decided to.. TAKE OVER DAMIRES HILLS. (Nah, I’m just kidding, wahaha) We went around and saw this log near the pool and decided to have our picture taken with that log (I have no idea how to say this but yes a bit vain but not insane) but basically we just sat on the log. (Thanks a log! Log! ) Get it? (PUN INTENDED, so punny!) 😀 Anyway…

After our little photo shoot we saw some of the Damires crew setting up long tables and placing banana leaves on top of the tables. They told us that this was for tonight’s boodle fight. (PS. I have never seen a boodle fight table this long! Haha) 🙂

Ron & I then accompanied Khlea to her place for her to change (see some of my failed jump shots *weight issues* here, later!) Back to our topic… Aah!…
So we went back to Damires and was just in time for the crew’s last game before dinner… “PALO-SEBO.
(Palo-Sebo: commonly played during Fiestas)
(Objective: to be the first person to reach the prize at the top of the pole)

It was really fun watching them, but what If girls were made to play this game? Hah! That would even be more exciting! Hahaha! 😀

Nothing beats eating with your bare hands! 🙂
Belated Happy 4th Anniversary Damires Hills! 🙂

Thank you Pao, Tita Arlene and Tito Louie 🙂

Damires Hills (Tierra Verde)

Hey Hey Hey, as I’ve told you in my previous post Directions to Damires Hills. I’ll be posting the photos I shot in this resort.

So here we go… 🙂

If you’re looking for a chance to get away from the city to collect your thoughts and go back with a much calmer version of yourself then I’d really recommend Damires Hills as a great solution for a  great escape. Not to mention cheap rates for their rooms and open cottages.

Here are some of my shots for their daytime cottages.

As to Families, Lovers or Barkadas who just wants quality time with not much of those loud noise we hear in the city this is a great place for you. When we stayed here it was just them birds chirpin’ in the morning and crickets n’ frogs croaking in the evening ’twas just the perfect legit background music for reminiscing and warm convos..

We stayed at room Zinia in the new building, that room  will now and forever be my favorite room in Damires. Haha! Cozy room with a veranda at the back (same goes with all the rooms in the new building) Here are some of the rooms/balays..

Love the fact that they have Duyans in every open-cottage and in some areas (nostalgic)

This is where we ate dinner, overlooking the poolside.
(please click the photo if you want see the full resolution)

Hut

The next day I went over to where they grew their fruits.. They had Rambutan, Kapayas, Calamansi, Cabugao and Katumbal 🙂

After Lunch, we tried the Ziplines and the Bunjee Trampoline. We also wanted to try the ATV but they were still rerouting the trail. (but will def’ try it next time!) 🙂

Zipliners
With the Manong Tata and Albert in charge of Ziplines. 🙂

Here’s Ron enjoying his weight and one fail photo of me trying to do a back flip in the trampoline. (yes, I am chubby but I am happy I did 3-5 flips or 2.. out of let’s just say several attempts. (I will be back, you tramp!) <– see what I did there? HAHA! Okay.. back to the photos..

Here’s a wide-shot of the overnight houses and open-cottages.

We done
We done, we done, we done done done. 🙂

Directions to Damires Hills (Tierra Verde)

A few weeks ago I was invited to take pictures of the resort for their 4th anniversary and the day of their anniversary.  So I called Ron out to go with me and stay the night at the resort along with my dear life partner Khlea who works there. (Hey bae! Hehe)

I will be posting the photos I took for Damires Hills on my “TRIPS TO JANIUAY” category (<– I will be inserting the link for the photos here later…)

Damires Hills is located at Brgy. Damires in Janiuay, Iloilo.
It’s just a 30-45 minute drive from the city.

There are 2 routes that I’ve driven through so far.. (curious if there are other routes I could take for fun! please comment or leave me a message if you’ve taken other routes besides these)

One is taking the road coming from Jaro Plaza off to follow the road to CPU (Central Philipppine University)  to Ungka terminal to Janiuay.

While the other is my current favorite..

From SM City, Diversion Road going to the Airport but before entering the gates of the airport there is this other road to the right that leads you to the road to CABATUAN, what’s nice about this route is since this road is near the airport you could see all the planes either taking off or landing a few miles away from you..
(plus the fields, ‘that’ one tree that looks like the tree from the “Wild thornberrys” and farm animals)
Seeing the runway is the best thing to see at night especially when a plane is landing.

This week was awesome, there was a plane about to land and it was just right above the pick-up truck that I was driving! We were too happy about it that we didn’t have the time to get our camera! Haha.
So yeah, try taking this route one time and you’ll know what I mean.

But for those who wants to ride a JEEP going to Janiuay, You could take a jeep in TAGBAK TERMINAL which costs around P28

FROM TAGBAK TERMINAL
The earliest jeep goes around 6:00 AM
The last jeep at around  9:00 PM

FROM JANIUAY TO ILOILO
The earliest jeep goes around 4:30/5:00 AM
The last jeep at around  6:00 PM

When you reach the plaza you could ask where to get a TRICYCLE going to Damires it’s not that far from the plaza and take you about 5 mins or less to go there. The Plete or FARE for the Trike is P20/person

Khlea told me that you could ride a jeep that goes to BADIANGAN because the jeep’s route passes by the gates of DAMIRES HILLS.
(But I haven’t ridden that one yet)
The Badiangan jeep costs around P30
