Happy New Year! Belated Happy Holidays!

Last year was crazy… Great opportunities swallowed by my newly found frenemy.. “Depression” (and may I say.. Depression sucks! Thou shall not give in!) 🙂

This year (finally!).. for the first time I have bought a planner! I have been visiting National Bookstore (several times) to decide on which planner I would buy. (Now I know how my friends feel when they get all giddy and all for a planner) from IT’S-JUST-A-PLANNER-to-IT’S-A-PLANNER! feeling. (Yes, that feeling!) I sit corrected. Haha.

I’m starting this year fresh, fit and clean. How about you guys?
I went to church with my mom, meditated, went to the gym to inquire about Circuit Training, changed my shower head.. Hmm what else? Hah! This year will be an amazing year! It should! It will be!

I’m thinking of keeping my hair light brown (whatever color this is) for the whole year or try other dyes for this year. Gaah, can’t wait to share with you more of Iloilo this year. Got lots of plans for my blog this year. This year, this year, THIS YEAR WILL BE A GOOD ONE! (Rastaman vibrations, yeah! Positive! Gotta have a good vibe!) 🙂

To my new followers, Thanks for following!
To my old followers, Thanks for staying!
LET’S ALL HAVE A GOOD YEAR GUYS! :*

Good Vibes Everyone! 🙂

HEY GUYS, I’M BACK!

I'm back!
Photo credits to Ron Matthews Espinosa <– See him on my BLOGROLL page! 🙂

Hey-ho-hey guys! How have you guys been? (*put bags down, remove cap, brush back hair w/ right hand*) “I’M BAAAAAAAACK!” 🙂 Sorry for the long inactivity guys! The past 8 months was just crazy.. A lot of things happened this year both good and bad. Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions! The  day before valentines day my dad passed away… I have grieved and I have cried a river in my bed but I know that crying was not gonna bring daddy back. I’ve lost faith in Jesus the day he died (but I’ve still been praying that prayer before meals though <– this, I find really funny) as months passed without my “FAITH IN GOD” people have been pushing me to go to church and then one day I did (with my friends) and then booom, tears began to fall and I started crying heavily alone sitting in that wooden pew in church then there I thought to myself that maybe I have just been running away from the thought that my dad had left us to go to a better place and to stop feeling the pain that he has been feeling for the past years. My dad was a religious man, so religious that I used to call him “FATHER” like the real father of the church. (Haha) but seriously he was. He would always tell everybody to go to church on Sundays and to keep praying or just give a little one-on-one time with Jesus. I know he always wanted me to keep my faith so that whatever crazy things I face, I’ll always have god with me. but aaanyways, knowing dad, I know he’s happier now that he is with his creator. 🙂 Okaaaay, EMO-ME is done now! Sorry for the 8 months of inactivity and I can’t wait to update y’all with all the GOOD things and events that is happening to me now! NEW LAYOUT! NEW CONTENT! I hope this makes it much easier for you guys to navigate on. (I am still working on some pages so It’ll be “UNDER-CONSTRUCTION” for now but I have placed linked-photo-posts on those pages, I swear I’m working on it! Haha) Update y’all very soon! Thanks for reading this post!Aenri (aah-yen-ree)

Sunburn through the window

Sunburn through the window..

As I’ve told you before I’ve gone to a theater camp outside of our city for 3 days.
On the way home we rode a non-air-conditioned bus. I sat by the window seat (I am a big sucker for window seats)
It was about 1pm when we headed back to the city, so yep, I already knew that it was going to be hot and I mean HOT.
Good thing the bus was going fast, so I thank the wind for keeping me alive inside the bus. Halfway home I fell asleep and one of my little manghods  in our group (alex) told me that there was this one time where my head was already outside the window. (Well thank you for telling me afterwards but you could have woken me up, you know.  Haha)

Anyway, when I woke up I was a bit shocked to see that “ze zun haz burnt my arm”
Well, I’ve “unpacked” my things already but it’s still on ze floor, till now.  (Lazy monkey)
I’ll be posting some of our photos during the theater camp in a bit.  😀

Welcome to the World of Theater: New Manghods

Welcome to the World of Theater: New Manghods

Hi. Hi. Hello!

Besides everyone having an awesome talent of their own.  There are other things that I really admire about this company,  We have this so-called “Magulang-Manghod” relationship (and no not those INCEST types, haha) It’s more like those KAPATIRAN moments I had when I was in highschool. It’s where the 4th Year (Seniors) would be assigned to take care and guide the 1st Year (Freshmen) You know something like how a mother would welcome it’s newborn into the world? Something like that.

In Japan they would call this as SENPAI-KOUHAI
Senpai: Usually older than the Kouhai (Senior/Mentor)
Kouhai: Usually younger than the Senpai (Freshman/Protégé)
*click THIS if you wanna know more*

Back to the Magulang-Manghod part, Magulang means an older sibling while Manghod  is a younger sibling.
In our case, even if we’re not blood-related we call the ones who passed the auditions and the initiation our new Manghod.

I have been a manghod once and from my experience I would describe a manghod as…  Someone who is new to the world of theater, Someone who is eager to learn more about theater, Someone who wants a fresh start, Someone who wants to be guided, Someone who admires his/her magulang.
Now, being a Magulang isn’t as easy as you think. You can’t be called a magulang if you haven’t done anything to earn that. Being a magulang means that you are capable of teaching and guiding your manghods, You have a bit of proof that you have the right to teach a few things to your manghod and have great passion for what you teach and do but even as a magulang we are still on the process of learning and WE SHALL NEVER STOP LEARNING. 😀

Every year our theater company accepts new apprentices. So that means every magulang would have a new manghod assigned to them as well. (that is IF the apprentices pass)
The manghod and magulang’s first pair-up would be in this parade, for this year we had “DREAMS & NIGHTMARES” as our theme.
The new kiddoes would be welcomed to the world of theater, well in this case it would be something like Street Theater 🙂

BayaNiRizal: Mga Bagong Kabanata ng Noli at Fili

BayaNiRizal: Mga Bagong Kabanata ng Noli at Fili
Hi. Hi. Hello!

As I’ve told you in my “About Me section..
I am a lights designer and a member of  an awesome theater company the USA Little Theater. It’s actually thanks to them that I became a lights designer and now a Technical Director.  (But I still have a lot to learn though) Compared to those professional LD’s and TD’s. 🙂

Anywhoo, this post has been on the “draft” side for a while now..  ( 06-26-13 )  Well these photos right here were taken by me while I was lighting the show. (Thank god for Multitasking skills) Though, there were a lot of b-e-a-utiful scenes that I just wanted to shoot but since I was doing booth shooting and lighting I couldn’t possibly click the shutter every second. Haha. 😀

BayaNiRizal, Formerly known as Ciento Cincuenta—is a play-tribute to our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal on his 150th death anniversary—this was my first production as an official member of this University-Theater company. Though It’s still considered as a work-in-progress but out of all USALT‘s plays, this has been one of those whom I consider as my baby.  Besides being the lights designer, I’ve also acted as the anti-“Donya Victorina”, co-written one of the plays “Ibarra” and we (my fellow batchmates) collaborated with the “Magulangs” (senior members) to stage this production. This has been one of my proud moments as a member.

So, there are nine short-plays and each run features five selected plays, so as not to drag the audience. These photos are the recently staged short-plays ;  “Ibarra” ,  “Sisa” , “Kapitan Tiyago” ,  “Maria Clara” and “Miss Philippines” (Miss Philippines is another shortplay coming from another production in USALT’s : Eksena 5)

— Okaaaay enough with the “my-on-and-on-chibbles” ——
No, but seriously this is play is awesome.  you could check everything else here —> USA Little Theater’s WordPress. & here USA Little Theater’s Facebook

Villa Igang Beach Resort, Guimaras Island

The day after the Flying of the 15k lanterns, I went to the Island of Guimaras again.  (May 25, 2013)

This is actually my 2nd time coming to Villa Igang and actually slept here for the night.
Villa Igang is located at Poblacion, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
After arriving at the port in Guimaras
– You can either rent a “multi-cab” if you come with a group.
– You can either rent a “tricycle” if you come in 3’s or 5’s and with little luggage.
– or ride a jeep if you’re saving money (Haha) 😀

But I wouldn’t really recommend this place to Foreigners, Filipinos or  those who are “allergic” to dirty bathrooms, like me, and to those who expects 5 star accommodations.  (ex. Hot showers, Fresh Towels, Free Toiletries, Aired Pillows etc..)

But putting those negative things aside, For those adventurous people who just wants to visit or wants to stay for the night despite those unclean bathrooms, Haha. There are, (I guess) a lot of places to go to and a lot of things that you could do.

The first thing you’ll see when you arrive in the resort is the way to the butterfly garden which also leads you to the cottages/rooms, if you don’t want to pass through the garden, it’s fine you could just take the other way.. 😀

They also have a place if you wanna go cliff diving, our room was just close to the cliff. I think there were about 3-4 rooms available near the cliff diving place.. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to jump since I was afraid of heights. Hahaha.
But my friend did, and he actually jumped right after we had placed our bags in the room. Hahaha.

There’s also this Mangrove route which is the best part of Villa Igang for me. Well, next to the Cliff diving part.
Gave me chills when we were passing through those bamboo-wood-made-bridges..

They also have swimming pools. A place for Kayaking and I think you could also rent a Jet ski? (Not sure)

If you wanna go Island Hopping I think that it would be better If you go to the other beach resort (Raymen Beach Resort) –> It’s just near Villa Igang so you could go early in the morning or whatever time you want to go Island hopping.. 😀

I hope I’ve helped you (If ever you were looking for a review on Villa Igang)
Though, It’s not the usual “COMPLETE REVIEW” (Since I suck at that, My apologies) 😀
 – if you do have some comments/reviews about Villa Igang, Please don’t hesitate to type in your comment/review. 😀

Here are my photos during my stay in Villa Igang. Most photos are taken near the cliff and on the cliff..

Flew more than 15K Lanterns for Guinness World Record!

“Inaugural Light of Peace Event in the Philippines: World Peace through Inner Peace”

On ze 24th of May, I went to the University of the Philippine Visayas campus in Miagao City.

Since this was just my 2nd time flying a lantern, I have never seen lanterns this many “lit and set free” at the same time. Well, Talk about Mind F*ck (Excuse me) 😀
(For more details about the Event: ( Inquirer Visayas , World Record Academy )

Anywhoo, I brought Enrique (canon 10d) along w/ me, but those  “ERROR 99”  just won’t stop plus the fact that the mirror inside keeps on getting stuck and closing.  I even brought my film cameras which I had later realized that the event would start at around 6PM it would be fine if I had those high ISO rolls with me..
All I had were ze 200’s and one B&W 400..  This was such a huge BUMMER..

So in the end I borrowed my friend’s (Kat) dslr  and volunteered to take their pictures.. Thanks KAT! 😀
I have taken too many blurry pictures, too many of my friends’ pictures..  and I have even reached the point of forgetting the feeling of being there.. 😦
But the fact that I was there and being one of the “15thousand” who helped break the record was enough. (Hihihi)

Camera Used: (Canon EOS Rebel T1i/Canon500D)

I hope you enjoy a few of my photos on that day.. 🙂
